2016 was a great year at the box office for animated movies.

This year we had big blockbuster releases such as 'Finding Dory', 'Moana' and 'Zootopia' to more unique stop-motion releases like 'Kubo and the Two Strings'. The highest profiting films seem to be the animated movies. Whether you loved or hated these films they did extremely well and brought in quite a profit.  'Finding Dory' was able to make $486.3 million in North America alone beating Pixar’s own record for 'Toy Story 3' back in 2010. Even films that were not seen as masterpieces like 'The Secret Life of Pets' still made 368.4 million.

Will 2017 be just as successful?
